Impronte di corpo, specchio, Ceppo di Grè

La serie Eco nasce in occasione della mostra Blocco realizzata presso lo spazio CAVEA di Marini Marmi a Milano. Le opere sono costituite da impronte di corpo bloccate nello specchio e Ceppo di Grè spazzolato. Questa pietra costituisce lo strato esterno della montagna, che custodisce, come lo fa la nostra pelle, un contenuto prezioso, la dolomia madre: il Ceppo è così inteso come la pelle della montagna, quel “sottile” strato che unisce il mondo esterno alle viscere della Terra, al Nuvolato di Grè. Non a caso la finitura scelta è stata la pietra spazzolata, che rende il ceppo poroso, come se fosse segnato da rughe e pieghe epidermiche.

Questo ciclo di opere parte dalla serie “ Gli Specchianti”, ma se nella serie precedente gli specchi erano posti all’interno di strutture mobili in legno, a ricordare la mobilità delle articolazioni del corpo, in questo caso la struttura diventa rigida, bloccata e fredda al tatto. Il corpo si fa pietra, sembra diventare stasi . Dall’immobilità del corpo il pensiero corre al mito della Ninfa Eco che si consumò per l’amore non corrisposto nei confronti del bellissimo Narciso. Tale fu il dolore che di lei rimasero solamente la voce e le ossa pietrificate.

The Eco series was created for the Blocco exhibition at the CAVEA space of Marini Marmi in Milan. The works are made up of body prints,incorporated in the mirror, and brushed Ceppo di Grè. This stone constitutes the external layer of the mountain, which preserves, as our skin does, a precious content, the mother dolomite: the Ceppo is as the skin of the mountain, that “thin” layer that unites the external world to the bowels of the Earth, at Nuvolato di Grè. The finish chosen was brushed stone, which makes the log porous, as if it were marked by wrinkles and epidermal folds.This cycle of works starts from the “Gli Specchianti” series, but if in the previous series the mirrors were placed inside mobile wooden structures, to recall the mobility of the body’s joints, in this case the structure becomes rigid, blocked and cold to the touch. The body turns to stone, it seems to become stasis. From the immobility of the body the thought runs to the myth of the Nymph Echo who was consumed by her unrequited love for the beautiful Narcissus. Such was the pain that only her voice and petrified bones remained.
